Artificial Narrow Intelligence, or ANI, is like a really smart robot that is very good at doing one specific thing.

Think of a calculator. It’s amazing at math and can solve problems quickly, but that’s all it can do. It can’t play music, make you a sandwich, or tell you a story. It’s focused on just one task and does it very well.

Another example is a chess computer. It can play chess better than most humans, thinking many moves ahead and planning strategies, but it doesn’t understand anything outside of chess.

So, in simple terms, ANI is a type of AI that is designed to perform one specific task really well, whether it’s recognizing faces in photos, driving a car, or understanding speech. It’s very smart in its own area, but it doesn’t have the general intelligence to handle a variety of tasks like a human can.
