For years, Elon Musk has emphasized the significance of Dojo, Tesla’s AI supercomputer, as the foundation of the company’s AI ambitions. Recently, Musk announced plans to intensify efforts on Dojo, especially with Tesla’s robotaxi reveal now set for October. Dojo, a custom-built supercomputer, is designed to train Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” (FSD) neural networks, essential for achieving full autonomy. Currently, FSD, present in around 2 million Tesla vehicles, can handle some automated tasks but still requires human supervision. Despite the delay in the robotaxi reveal, Tesla remains committed to autonomy, investing heavily in AI and Dojo to achieve this goal.
